Chufut Kale, Crimean Peninsula, Ukraine

Every day during more than ten centuries carts were riding here. The deep traces were cut in the limestone by the carts' wheels as the time flew. The arched gate, dated as far as the 8th century, was one of the main entrances into the hidden Karaim city of Chufut Kale (more history here.)
